SU-CASA is a community arts engagement program that places artists and organizations for six months at senior centers across the five boroughs of New York City. The program provides selected artists with a stipend in exchange for the creation and delivery of arts programming for older adults.
LMCC is proud to administer 20 residencies for individual artists on behalf of the borough of Manhattan. LMCC welcomes applications from Manhattan-based individual artists seeking residencies at participating senior centers in Manhattan.

Zac Hacmon (Workspace 2018-2019 and current Workspace On-Site Assistant 2019-2020) has received the Cafe Royal Visual Project Grant for the project, Hedgehog. Hedgehog is an interactive sound installation that explores the Mexican-American border and creates a manipulated border crossing experience in the gallery space. More info here.

Maria Hassabi (Extended Life 2019-2020) and Nairy Baghramian, recently presented Entre Deux Actes (Ménage à Quatre) at The Kitchen as part of Performa 19.
For Entre Deux Actes (Ménage à Quatre), Hassabi recomposed her most recent works, TOGETHER (2019) and FIGURES (2019), for the townhouse’s unique setting to produce an atmosphere where slowness and stillness intensify sensitivity.

Congratulations to Torkwase Dyson (Process Space 2016) who was named the winner of the Studio Museum in Harlem’s 2019 Joyce Alexander Wein Artist Prize. The annual $50,000 award recognizes the artistic achievements of African American artists who demonstrate great innovation, promise, and creativity. Read more about the award here.

Ephrat Asherie (River To River 2016, Extended Life 2016-2017, Workspace 2013-2014, Swing Space 2012) was recently featured in the New York Times about placing Brazilian composer Ernesto Nazareth's music in a world of street dance in her new work Odeon.
Odeon is Ephrat's second collaboration with her brother Ehud. Their first, Riff this, Riff that was presented at River To River in 2016. Read the conversation with Gia Kourlas here.
