It's positively chilly outside--finally time to wrap yourself up in fluffy, cozy, handmade things (and often to wrap up your family members, pets and coworkers, too).
Because it's the height of the stitching season, we have so many upcoming events at the shop; we hope you can join us for a few!
The weekend of Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24, we'll be featuring a trunk show of knitting and crochet designs and models by the team from Cerulean Orchidad. Jeananne and Angela are Northwest designers and bloggers, who collaborate with and write about so many of our favorite local yarn and fiber producers. We'll also have a mini-pop-up-shop with Monmouth, Oregon's Willamette Valley Wool Company, whose yarns have often been featured in Cerulean Orchidad's kits and patterns.
Although we will be closed the day after Thanksgiving, we'll be back with a bang on Saturday, November 30 for Small Business Saturday! Every year, we enjoy being part of this national celebration to include small, local stores in your holiday shopping, and we'd love to say thank you by making things fun! Cozying in with us for the day will be Hannah, one of the talented and surprisingly upbeat artists behind one of Salem's small businesses: Despondent Dyes. (Come for the beautiful yarn, but stay for the cleverly hopeless color titles. Seriously.) We'll have treats, tea, and even a sale: all books, needles, and notions will be 20% off for the weekend.
