HiH AFGHANISTAN STAFF PARTICIPATE AT THE HASEL PROJECT STARTUP WORKSHOP IN NEW DELHI
 
HiH Af in partnership with the SDO and CAFOD have been awarded to implement the Households Adopt Sustainable Economic Livelihoods (HASEL) Project in Balkh and Herat Provinces from September 1st, 2019 till August 31, 2022. The project is co-funded by the Misereor, CAFOD and HiH International.
The project startup workshop was conducted in New Delhi, India on October 5-9, 2019 to orient project team on activities and work plan, revisit and refine the project work plan, learn more about project budget and financial management, plan development of the MEAL framework and baseline assessment, orient project team on grant compliance requirements including reporting timelines and templates and build relationships with each other across all 3 organizations. Further reading...

DISTRIBUTION OF LAYER CHICKENS AND TAILORING MACHINES

Hand in in Hand Afghanistan distributed 17,500 layer chickens to 700 returnees families in Jebrael area the thirteenth district of Herat city and Karukh district of Herat province through the Layers Poultry Value Chain project which is funded by GIZ.  Read more…
2. Hand in Hand Afghanistan distributed 175 tailoring machines and equipment to 175 women in Bagram and Jabulseraj districts of Parwan province and Bagrami district of Kabul. ENTERPRISES AND JOBS FOR WOMEN
 
During this reporting period, Self-Help Group members have saved total AFN 224,050 and lent AFN 304,950 internally. The enterprises start up kits and internal loans have resulted in establishment and enhancement of 414 (94% female) micro-enterprises which has resulted in creation of 447 (94% female) jobs in their respective communities.
  MEET, SAMAR GUL 

Samar Gul 28 years old, a widow lives in Hayet Qul Baay village of Khulm district. Samar Guls’s family consists of four kids (two girls and two boys). Her eldest kid is ten years and the youngest is three years.
