A Taste of Hollywood Glitz and Glamour
Enjoy famous jazz from the big-screen at Jazz at The Maj: Jazz at the Movies - Hollywood Fri 8 & Sat 9 Nov, 7.30pm, with a family friendly 3pm Sat matinee.
From classic films including The Pink Panther and The Man With the Golden Arm to more modern movies like Ocean’s Eleven, WAYJO will put the shine on some unexpected jazz compositions. Even kids films like The Incredibles and Monsters Inc. will get a run in a fabulous evening for young and old. With a family friendly matinee performance and special family prices, Jazz at the Movies will be guaranteed to make your day.

WAYJO Act-Belong-Commit 2020 Band Auditions
With only seven places now remaining, this is probably your LAST CHANCE to secure a 2020 WAYJO audition place.
With just 4 places Friday, and only 3 on Sunday, this year will again see applications likely filling prior that 11.59pm, Monday 11 November 2019 deadline!
We're still keen to see more rhythm section (guitar, keys, drums and bass) and bass trombone and baritone sax players. WAYJO can offer loan instruments for baritone saxophone and bass trombone!
Auditions sold out over the past 2 years, so any musicians aged 14-25 (or 28 if in full-time study during 2020) better apply ASAP at wayjo.com/audition

The West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra's highly successful American Jazz Story season culminates in their final show for 2019, Jazz Under the Stars at The Quarry Amphitheatre, Friday 22nd of November.
Celebrating a year of regional tours, high calibre US guest artists, and international exchanges to Japan and the USA, WAYJO’s three big bands bring the diverse styles of American Jazz to life in band-picked selections, offering highly-honed renditions of the music these rising stars of jazz adore.
From New York to Chicago, New Orleans to Las Vegas, Detroit, Hollywood and Cuba, WAYJO takes you on a jazz journey like no other this November.

The West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) are a micro-team not-for-profit, working toward advancement for young, early career jazz musicians and composers in our state.
With an impressive alumni of international jazz luminaries, including Linda May Han Oh, Dane Alderson, Troy Roberts and Mat Jodrell, WAYJO has been at the forefront of forging professional, contemporary big band, ensemble and solo jazz artists since 1983.
Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) registered with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, every donation $2 and over is tax-deductible, and directly assists our hard working musicians. "Play-It-Forward" with a donation to WAYJO!
