Dear Parents and Carers

I hope you all had a lovely half term holiday.

Next Friday (15th) is individual photos with Tempest Photography. It is the same day as Children in Need, so this year we have decided to not to participate in this. Instead, school council have decided they would like to raise money for The Great North Air Ambulance over this year- ideas for this involve a non uniform day when GNAA will also come and speak in an assembly, clothing collection and collecting ink cartridges. We are also looking at holding a sponsored run in the better weather.  More details about these events will be coming soon.

With kind regards

Mrs L Lidgard

Anti-Bullying Week 2019: Change Starts With Us

Anti-Bullying Week happens in schools across England each November. This year's Anti-Bullying Week has the theme Change Starts With Us and is happening from Monday 11th November - Friday 15th November 2019.
This year to recognise anti-bullying week we are asking children to come to school wearing odd socks on Wednesday 13th November. There is no donation with this as it is about raising awareness in school.

Be a Flu Fighter

The Flu Vaccine will be given to your child in school from Reception up to Year 6 on Monday 2nd December.  This is given via a quick and simple spray up the nose.  The vaccination programme is in place to help protect your child against flu.  Flu can be a serious illness, vaccinating your child can protect them and others by preventing the spread of flu.  Please ensure you complete your consent form and hand into the school office by Monday 4th November at the latest.  No consent form will result in no vaccine given to your child.  Forms are available from the school office.

Year 2 Visit to Saltholme

On Monday 11th November the Year 2 children will be visiting Saltholme as part of their topic. They will be leaving school at 9:15am and should return for the end of the school day depending on traffic. The children do not need to wear their school uniform. However as it is November we would recommend Sensible shoes (wellies), a waterproof/coat, jogging bottoms/trousers, gloves and a hat. The children will be provided with a packed lunch from school. The voluntary contribution for this trip is £10.00 (£4.00 for Saltholme and £6.00 for the coach) and is to be paid for through your child's Parentmail account. There is no consent form, however on your Parentmail account you will also be asked to give consent for your child to attend. Thank you for your continued support, without this visits such as this would not be able to go ahead.
