JROTC Month in Hillsborough County
The BOCC declared November 2019 as JROTC Month in Hillsborough County. The Board recognized the 10 Hillsborough County high schools with Top 10 cadets in the school district's annual JROTC Cadet of the Year competition.

Small Business Saturday
Commissioners honored small businesses, which represent 99.9 percent of all businesses with employees in the nation, by declaring Nov. 30, 2019, as Small Business Saturday in Hillsborough County.  
Farm-City Week
Recognizing the tireless efforts of farmers and rangers who provide food and jobs, while also protecting natural resources, the BOCC declared Nov. 20 through Nov. 27, 2019, as Farm-City Week
Senator Arthenia Joyner
The BOCC presented a commendation to former Florida State Senator Arthenia L. Joyner, recognizing her trailblazing, 50-year career as a practicing attorney.

Park Pass Discounts Available for Seniors

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners approved a 25 percent discount on annual Conservation Park entry passes for residents 65 and older that will allow seniors more access to County parks and live an active, healthy lifestyle.

Summer Employment Program Helps Explore Careers

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners approved a funding agreement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay for a summer employment program for Hillsborough County youths between the ages of 13 and 17. The program will help improve their employment potential by assessing skills and interests, exploring careers, coaching them to make sound educational decisions, and providing mentoring and job-shadowing opportunities.

Child Care Assistance Enables Path to Self-Sufficiency

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement with the Early Learning Coalition to provide financial assistance for child care services for low-income residents that will help families continue down the path to self-sufficiency.

Adult Education Programs Help with Employment

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement to continue funding adult education and training programs that will help low-income residents in Hillsborough County achieve gainful employment through higher education opportunities.
