Please join us for our upcoming Immigrant Employment T.O. Day event: Women in Technology – Non-traditional Pathways to Success. This event is organized by the Meaningful Employment and Economic Opportunities Action Group. 

The programming will include a diverse range of extraordinary speakers who will share their stories of success and provide insights to the ever growing sector. Following the speaker series, participants are welcome to network and browse through the service marketplace to obtain information and resources on programs. 


When: Nov. 29, 2019, 9:30am-1pm 
Where: Malvern Employment and Social Service (325 Milner Ave, 9th Floor, Scarborough) 

We have fun programs and activities coming up. Highlights include our baking program, Laser Quest, swimming and The Christmas Market @ the Distillery!

St. Mark's United Church Bazaar & Crafts Market.
Great variety of crafts, Christmas decorations, Silent Auction, Bake Table, Books.

When: Saturday, November 23, 10am - 2pm
Where: 115 Orton Park Road, Scarborough (between Lawrence & Ellesmere) 


Over 50 vendors for one stop holiday shopping! Come to the West Hill-Highland Creek Lions Club Annual Holiday Craft Sale, Saturday, December 7th at 10am to 3pm at Heron Park Community Centre, 292 Manse Road.

Would you like to be a vendor at this sale?  Tables are $35. Lions provides a 6ft table and chairs. Vendors bring a tablecloth. Contact our sale coordinator at sale@lionsclub.ca / 416 282-7202

Scarborough Arts invites you to get involved in the arts by volunteering at our Annual Juried Exhibition!
  • 10am to 12 pm Volunteers needed to assist with set up
  • 12pm - 4pm assist with coat check, handing out brochures, and food replenishing 
We require at least 1 volunteer with  a Smart Serve license to serve alcohol from 12PM-4PM. 

When: Saturday, November 23. 10am - 4pm.

What: A Scarborough Climate Conversation, co-hosted the People's Climate Movement, Scarborough Civic Action Network (SCAN) & Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA).
Why: The City is consulting on the TransformTO Climate Action Plan 2021-2023 and we want to bring Scarborough ideas and perspectives to the plan.
Who: Scarborough residents - everyone is welcome!

When: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 6-8pm
Where: Dorset Park Hub (the Lounge), 1911 Kennedy Rd.
How: Please register here. A light dinner will be served.

The City of Toronto's Poverty Reduction Strategy Office is recruiting for the Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) in 2020. The deadline to apply is November 29th, 2019.

Outside of Scarborough


We are Toronto’s longest running FREE community film festival. We are dedicated to showcasing local and international independent works relevant to people from all walks of life, with a focus on inviting those of us from low income and public housing communities. The films we present break stereotypes and show that no one place or person has just one story.
