October 26, 2019, National Drug Take Back Report

KPD recently participated in the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day — a program that aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Kennedale officers collected 45 pounds of unused or expired medication, and the DEA Dallas Field Division (North Texas and Oklahoma) collected more than 37,000 pounds in total. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2020.

We are currently working on a plan that focuses on improving recreational access to the creek system for current residents while also preserving it for future generations, and we'd like to know what your priorities are.

Would you like to see pathways and linear parks? Or are you more concerned with erosion prevention and protecting the natural environment?
Community input will help to identify and prioritize desired improvements, conservation opportunities, and recreational access along Village, Kennedale, and Winding Creeks.

Join us Thursday, December 12, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall (405 Municipal Drive) for a "Community Chat" about this project. If you'd like to be alerted to future meetings and input opportunities, you can sign up for notifications at
