Friday 08 November 2019

Kia ora koutou,

Well  done to all our tamariki for their wonderful attitude at our athletics day on Tuesday.  I was impressed with your perseverance and sportsmanship. It’s always such a privilege to take our tamariki out and about.
A reminder to return the school sports uniforms washed as soon as possible.

Have a great weekend!

PTA Update

Firstly a big Thank You to all school families for the huge effort in selling the Whittakers Chocolate bars.  We made over $1000 profit from each families commitment to sell just one box, which was fantastic!
This fundraiser has replaced our previous Malvern Show food stand which last year only gave us a profit of around $400 and was a mammoth effort to organize and man on the day needless to say we think the chocolates are a much better option.

Our calves from Fonterra have now been sold and we eagerly await the deposit into our bank account. We will update you on the success of that once we know.

Later this month we have the Christmas luncheon fundraiser happening again after a great event last year. We will be sending out a donations list shortly.  Your help will be greatly appreciated.

And of course we have the Christmas raffle at the end of year concert that we are also preparing for.  Thanks in advance for the wonderful items you donate every year in order to make the awesome raffle prize baskets!

I know it seems a while away but our major fundraiser the Coast to Coast is getting closer, so please pencil the date on your calendars, February 7th, 8th and 9th.  We need as much support as possible for cooking, lunch making and setting up :-)

PTA recent contributions to school:-

  • Tools for children have now been purchased and area set up.

  • Robotics equipment for across the school now purchased.

  • Specialist teachers for Art, Ukelele and Dance.

  • Camp contribution of $150 per student for Yr 5 & 6 students.

If you are on a farm and using another supplier, please consider the benefits of switching to Southfuels as the rewards programme they offer directly benefits the children.

Some examples of things Southfuels rewards programme has provided us are:
  • 1-1 Chrome books in our senior room
  • Sports pack that included a large range of new sports gear
  • Robotics kits
  • Tablets

Our biggest points earner has gone and we need some of you to take over!
