As we consider changes to our worship services, we're asking for your input.  Please click on the link below to take a short, ten question survey about your worship preferences.  The whole thing takes less than three minutes. If you've already taken the survey, but someone in your family has not (spouse, teenager, etc.) please feel free to pass this link--or your phone--over to them to complete.  Thanks!
In the gospels, Jesus often uses coins to teach his followers about life transformation.  This November, Pastor Neal is preaching a sermon series featuring several of these timeless stories:

"The Widow's Mite" - November  10
"Render Unto Caesar" - November 17
"Fishy Money" - November 24
In the months of November, December, and January, members and friends of First Presbyterian Church are invited to renew their financial commitment to the church.  We do this through pledge cards, which can be found at the information table in the Robert Young Centre, or  dowloaded here.  Please fill out a pledge card and return to the church at your earliest convenience.  Through your gifts, we are able to reflect God's love in our ministry and in our community.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?  Kids and Co will be performing their latest show, "Fairest" on the following dates:  Friday, November 8, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 7:30pm and Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:30pm in the Sanctuary here at First Presbyterian Church.  Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, military, and senior citizens.
You are invited to attend a concert by our church member and organist, Vanessa Johnson and Kristen Boyea, Mezzo-Soprano (who was the guest soloist at our 11am worship last Sunday).  The performance is free and open to the public, and will be this Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 2800 Pershing.
This year we are combining our annual Thanksgiving Feast and our monthly potluck! We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with our church family on Sunday, November 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the Robert Young Centre. We will be supplying turkey and ham sliders! We would love for you to bring your favorite "brunchy" side dish or dessert! There will be no Sunday School classes on that day so that we can all enjoy celebrating together! Please make plans to celebrate Thanksgiving with us between services on that Sunday and thank God for our amazing church family!
The purpose for the congregational meeting is to elect new church officers for the 2020 year, and to vote on a  change in Pastor Neal's terms of call.

In his book, “Creed: What Christians Believe and Why,” Christian author and pastor Adam Hamilton states his beliefs on the existence of God: “It seems unthinkable to most human beings that the beauty and majesty of creation should either (a) have always existed without a beginning or (b) have spontaneously generated out of nothing with no One to create it. Further, the order evident in creation—the natural laws, the complexity of what we can observe, including human beings capable of reason—seem further evidence of a being, a mind behind the creation of the cosmos.”  Prayer Requests for October—One and continuing prayers.  Our pastors, staff and members stand ready to pray for your joys and concerns. If you would like pastoral prayer, please fill out a prayer card and place it in the offering plate. To be added to our member-led prayer chain, contact the church office at 915-533-7551.
