This month's featured Artist:
Lisa Bahouth
Lisa Bahouth (Painter) In a continuous process inspired by musical composition, Lisa's art encompasses ideas about architecture, structure(s), and habitats. Put in her own words: "Painting is a laboratory where I explore and play with formal structure much like jazz improvisation. Although my work has the appearance of abstraction, it references nature, interiors and other cues". Lisa is grateful to include her art in the Jazz Vespers. Having begun to draw and play piano at the age of 7, music and visual art behave like rivaling siblings; but her practice is to explore visual and musical composition in a harmonious journey. Lisa Bahouth studied art at Rhode Island School of Design and received her BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture. The award-winning artist and classical pianist exhibited her work in New York before moving to Los Angeles. Her work is currently on exhibit in Russia, Armenia, Japan and the US.
