english This month we are happy to share with you last results of our PhD student Véronique about the impact of micro-environment in cerebral in vitro models and a short summary of the kick-off meeting of MIMLIVEROnChip. If you have questions about extracellular matrix and organs-on-chips technology in 3D cell culture systems, look at this bran new webinar and feel free to contact us!

Impact of the microenvironment in cerebral in vitro models: Veronique’s thesis work progress

Since last year, our PhD student Véronique De Conto has been working on the impact of microenvironment in cerebral in vitro model. On the supervision of our study director Dr. Elodie Vandenhaute and her thesis director Pr. Vincent Bérézowski (Inserm U1171), she developed two different cerebral in vitro models : A cerebral in vitro model for neurotoxicity assessment & A cerebral in vitro model for neuroprotective molecule screening

Kick-off meeting of ANR-funded project MIMLIVEROnChip

Last week we were glad to attend the kick-off meeting of MIMLIVEROnChip, funded by the french National Agency for Research (ANR). It was held in UTC Compiègne, and the project is coordinated by Pr Cecile Legallais (BIOMÉCANIQUE ET BIOINGÉNIERIE (BMBI Laboratory) – UMR CNRS 7338).

Feedback from PhD student’s day in Lille

The annual congress of Biology and Health PhD students from Lille (André Verbert day) took place at the Faculty of Medicine Thursday, September 10th. During this day, PhD students, in third year of thesis, had to present their works by talks, flash-talks or posters. Our PhD student Véronique De Conto has been selected for a talk about the development of a three dimensional cerebral in vitro model including the matricial microenvironment.

Optimizing high-content screening tools for physiologically-relevant 3D in vitro models : The Webinar!

We are very happy to share with you about HCS and 3D in vitro models thanks to a labroots.com webinar available on demand!
This webinar is made with our partner Molecular Devices and it will present you many tips on how to handle 3D cell culture systems such as the BIOMIMESYS hydroscaffold on high-content imagers.

Revealing the Secret Lives of Cells With Advanced Microscopy

It’s a large part of our work to reveal beauty (and secrets!) of cells in HCS Pharma thanks to different microscopy technologies. In this nice article, authors present the evolution of this field from first optical devices to most recent high-resolution technologies. It’s interesting to see that observation of cells (and their inner compounds) is a true interdisciplinary work, with biology, computing and optical skills needed !

Why HCS ?

To target complex diseases (as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases), more than one target are needed and screening on complex model is recommended.
