Health care is undergoing a scientific and technological revolution. Every week new drugs, diagnostics, technologies and care models are announced to the world. Yet highly regulated, complex health systems can find adoption of innovation tough. If you enjoy working in complex systems with conflicting pressures; if you can build trusted relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and sectors; if you have experience of supporting adoption of innovation at scale, then this could be the job for you.
Now is a great time to join the AHSN. We’re at an exciting time in our history: we’ve got a very successful seven years under our belt and an exciting future ahead – working to grow and support health innovation across Dorset, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and South Wiltshire; and also working with other AHSNs, NHS England, NHS Improvement and the Office for Life Sciences as we continue to have national impact.
For much more about the role, including how to apply, JD, person specification and where to go for more information, please visit our web page here.

The toolkit is a collection of assets that includes training resources, a genomics phrasebook, and links to relevant guidance and patient resources. View the toolkit here.
Nutrition Wheel launches
We have worked with the Patients' Association and Bournemouth University to develop the Nutrition Wheel. The wheel is an interactive version of the Patients' Association Nutrition Checklist and has been designed to be a conversation starter.
Please note: the Nutrition Wheel itself is made from durable coated card, and as such, Nutrition Wheels can be used many times. The Nutrition Wheel is a tool to be kept by the volunteer or care worker. It is not a patient resource, and as such is not appropriate to give out to patients or clients.
This includes sharing patients’ records between doctors and other care providers, installing WiFi at GP surgeries and NHS buildings, and helping local NHS IT systems ‘talk’ to one another better.
The 15 Academic Health Science Networks in England are committed to working together to support promising innovation into the NHS. As part of the Network’s efforts to collaborate further, we’re working to make access to us and our colleagues in other AHSNs easier.
