Campus receives $1.5 million from state for 'Basic Needs' programs




 

Food and house insecurity is a reality for many students: "At UCSC, 48 percent of undergraduates and 31 percent of graduate students experience food insecurity, which encompasses both insufficient food and insufficiently nutritious food, according to the latest survey of students." Learn more about the expansion of programs to help our students.

Leslie O'Malley, Waste Reduction Program Manager for the City of Santa Cruz, is being recognized as the Sustainability Champion of The Month this November. Leslie's work focuses on resource conservation and zero waste lifestyle. See Leslie's interview to learn more about her work.
