SongwritingWith:Soldiers
Longtime Albany member Mary Judd’s empowering program SongwritingWith:Soldiers — which supports healing through music for veterans, their families, and the community — recently got a national TV audience.
The 1-hour prime-time PBS special "Songwriting with Soldiers" gathered GRAMMY award-winning singer/songwriters, war veterans and active service members in a powerful night of music within Nashville’s historic War Memorial Auditorium.
It premiered nationally on PBS on Oct 25, but you can still stream it online anytime.
There’s also a special performance and panel discussion at The Linda in Albany (WNYC’s event space) on Thursday, Nov. 14.

New Beacon member Laura Volpacchio is a high-end photographer specializing in family, newborn and branding photography. She works in NYC, LI, Westchester and now (YAY!) the Hudson Valley!
She moved to Beacon from NYC last month with her new husband after years of talking about it.
Joining BEAHIVE has helped ease the transition tremendously, she says, giving her the space to focus, meet new people, and start to develop a sense of familiarity in this new chapter. Aww, shucks...

When travel startup ViaHero moved to Beacon, they immediately joined BEAHIVE.
They've now launched in 21 destinations and have grown so much, they eventually flew the hive and have their own office down the street.
