You are not what you do, you are what you learn!
The year 2019 really feels like the Olympic 100m sprint. So many things have happened, with multiple conscious and subconscious learning moments; good news, sad news, great news; one door closes, another one opens.
Also, our insane workethics are really starting to pay off in a very broad sense. More and more people feel comfortable in consulting our little trainer crew, to confide in their struggles with balance, in other areas of their lives.
Often times, the way a person deals with physical balance issues, can be a good indicator of how one goes about dissolving problematic situations in general.
The results of analyzing what needs to be done, in order to complete a pattern, clear a technique or tweak a certain motion, can be used as metaphors to develop insight and strategies.
On wheels, balance disturbance can be caused internally (poor judgement, insufficient correction, etc) or externally (another person coming at you, obstacles in your way, energy around you out of sync, etc).
Either way, you will swing out of balance, take a hit, or fall down.
In daily life, it`s practically the same.
But what happens then and there, does not have to define you. Sure, the brain takes a snapshot and stores it at your inconvenience, making your life and perception of it way more complicated than necessary.
But there are certainly ways to hack your brain and create new neural pathways filled with self confidence and productive self esteem, thus expanding your toolkit to cope with balance disturbance.
Those vital learning moments is what you bring to other areas in life and to future situations. That's how you grow and keep evolving each time a cycle is concluded.
As trainers at the Es Quint Foundation, we are fortunate to see people breaking down their personal barriers, conventions and convictions that are holding them back, on a weekly basis. As time goes on, they change, grow and improve. They come walking in with their shoulders up, a big smile and can't wait to get on the floor to jam it all out.
It's very interesting to see how people develop personal preferences and how they discuss and engage into in-sync and sparring sessions in the most unexpected combinations. If they'd met in other daily life circumstances, they would probably have no reason or intention to interact at all and stay unaware of the good energy that could be.
So challenge, control, improve and improvise! That's how you build layer upon layer upon layer, taking them all with you as you travel through life.
As for 2019, we can still add some.
So, let's go!
