Clinical Guide to Transfusion Publications:

Serological Best Practices:

Testing patients’ blood for non-ABO antibodies determines if they require antigen-negative red blood cell units for transfusion. These best practices provide information about some of these antibodies and the implications for patient management if they are detected. They also include a table summarizing recommendations for red blood cell transfusion in patients with non-ABO antibodies. Available in English and French.

Kudos

  • Congratulations to Canadian Blood Services' Dr. Donald Branch who won the 2019 Tibor Greenwalt Memorial Award And Lectureship from AABB. This award honors Tibor Greenwalt, MD, who was the first registrant at the first AABB Annual Meeting and founding editor of TRANSFUSION.
