Welcome to the CHE!

The Center for Humanitarian Engagement (CHE) supports Walla Walla University's goal of Generosity in Service through many global (local, domestically and international) service activities. Service is already embedded deep in our culture at WWU through many groups and individual students who engage in service but this newsletter will strive to make it easier for you to find out what is happening and how you can get involved!

Our goal is to have one email with all service opportunities for students and staff/faculty. We want to share stories of how service impacts both the volunteers and our community, display volunteer opportunities and say thanks to our donors!

E. David Lopez
Executive Director

We hope that you had an incredible weekend!

This last Saturday we had an extraordinary CARE Weekend. We went downtown and passed out hot chocolate while engaging in Free Intelligent Conversations with the people walking the streets in downtown Walla Walla. We had over 30 volunteers and emptied all of our hot chocolate reserves. Last Saturday was a success, to say the least.

Thank you to all who could make it!
- Mitchell Powers, CHE Volunteer Coordinator
Walla Walla University student volunteers worked hard at the Blue Mountain Humane Society on Service Day to prepare for the annual Fall Furr Ball. Thanks to the help of WWU students, $235,000 was raised!
