Focus Topic: Governance Update
We invite you to our next 'Pulse Meeting' where our focus turns to the next phase of the WAAEH. The
meeting will reflect on the success and challenges of the Alliance to date to help inform the governance and structure going forward.
The McCusker Centre for Citizenship at UWA has partnered with the WA Alliance to End Homelessness to deliver the summer school unit 'Approaches to Wicked Problems'. Enrolments start from 11 November 2019.
Attended by 2,000 people including many children and families guests describe the event as a ‘life changing day’ for them. 458 volunteers donate 7,610 hours to make this event possible.
Have you thought about what housing will look like for you as a young person in the future?🤔Well here’s your chance to share your thoughts and experiences on topics like renting, finding somewhere to live and issues that will have an impact on your housing future 🏘️.
A plan to provide homeless people with overnight beds and shelter in car parks might sound like a good idea but it does little to solve their problem in the long term.
There has been a 37 per cent increase of older people using homelessness services since 2013, prompting calls for a boost to social housing investment.
Stakeholders have called for the state government's new housing plan to better care for those most vulnerable in a bid to address the South West's 'homelessness crisis'.
