To be fair to my State of New York!

Guest Designer at The Male Room!

So when a card is chosen as an overall winning design, that person is then asked to guest design for a future theme and that's just what happened to me!

The theme is hobbies and I was scrambling to find any stamps that would fit.  Because I have golfers in my family, I keep any and all golf themed images even if they are discontinued.  Many of you will immediately recognize what company I used!  Click on the card for the blog post.

Stamping Time in Kingston NY

We seem to have a tradition while in Kingston at The Forsyth B&B of crafting together on Saturday night and that's just what we did!  Kathy was missing from the fun, but we gave her one of our cards for a souvenir.

I had left some supplies behind from home, but it was actually fun to make what we had work.  One of the items I forgot was a water spritzer, so we just used our waterbrush after inking the rubber with Distress ink.  Once the stamp was pressed onto watercolor paper, we spread the ink around further with the waterbrush to even out the color.  I like making these little batches of card fronts at a time as it feels more manageable.

I highly recommend Sherry's fall beverage to accompany any card crafting time at this time of year of 1911 Cranberry Hard Cider and a splash of Smirnoff Caramel Vodka.  It's like liquid pumpkin pie and so yumma-licious!

I had time this week to finish them and here are some of them!  The rest I'll post next week.  Most of the watercolor paper I used was Strathmore postcards and because they were a bit smaller and longer than an A2 card (I think 4x6), I was able to create a border affect, which I rather liked!

Splattering really fills in the white spaces nicely.  I used my all time ever most favorite sentiment from Stampendous.  I am very happy with these cards and the fun we had in creating them will be fond memories indeed.

Forgotten Techniques

While enjoying my coffee and laptop time yesterday, I viewed a YouTube video of a technique that we did many, many years ago and thought it would be fun to share!

And that got me to thinking about how many techniques we've done over the years that we've totally forgotten about?  Stay tuned...I see a little series in our future!
Create a Card with a Paper Napkin by Treasures of Many!
As I was reading some of the comments below the video, it was suggested to use spray adhesive rather than adhesive paper.  I believe spray adhesive would also work on affixing the diamond glitter if you don't have stamp 'n bond handy.

So who's going to be the first to take a walk down memory lane with me?

Have a pleasant week!

XOXO
