Shorter Days Mean ...
Do shorter days make you feel sluggish, grumpy or just a little ‘blue’? If so, you are not alone! Shorter days and less sunlight really do affect our mood, productivity and even quality of sleep! While you can’t make the days longer, you can help get through the winter with a “brighter” outlook!
Light therapy uses specially designed boxes that emit full-spectrum light just like sunlight. The boxes or lamps come in a variety of price ranges but a good one can be found for under $60. Here is one review site - check here https://www.verywellmind.com/best-light-therapy-lamps-4172537
Have your 25-hydroxy Vitamin D levels checked. This vitamin is produced by your body when exposed to sunlight. If you don’t get the full spectrum of light, no Vitamin D is made and you might need a supplement.
Have you decreased your activity level? People often move less in the winter because they are inside more and it’s cold outside. Find ways to get consistent movement – mall walk, hit the gym, or take a class [dance, karate, yoga, Zumba, rock climbing, tai chi, etc.].
