PRAY for the many ministries related to PAOC's GlobalEd and specifically Rainer and Elizabeth.
Rainer recently celebrated the first graduation of students in the Ministry Essentials Training Program in Banaue, Ifugao, Philippines (picture on the bottom). He also thoroughly enjoyed teaching the very warm and receptive group of leaders in Thailand. (picture at the top).
Rainer teaches in bible colleges, seminaries and corporate management contexts in different countries and serves on the GlobalEd team as Leadership Development Specialist and oversees the development of the new Ministry Essentials Training Program. When Elizabeth has opportunity to travel with Rainer, she focuses is on teaching, mentoring, and encouraging women in various aspects of ministry.
PRAY for Stephen...here is a recent update as he continues his cancer journey.
"My journey back to health is a bit of a roller coaster - lots of ups and downs. On the positive side we are encouraged in the Lord and sense the strong prayer support of our Africa and home team as well as friends and family all over the world. We praise the Lord for good medical care and the continued financial support from out partners during this time of testing. Regular chemotherapy seems not to be an option because I am allergic to its different flavours. My oncologist did a bone marrow biopsy 2 weeks ago to explore other treatment options, and I have a return visit on Nov 21. The info from a bone marrow biopsy is much more detailed than simple blood tests. My critical difficulties are with my lungs. Last Tuesday I had an urgent consultation with my respirologist and my oxygen level was only 89% - which is borderline for needing oxygen. He gave me some antibiotics and other meds and ordered a sputum test. He called yesterday morning to say that the type of infection I have in my lungs is resistant to the type of antibiotics that I have been taking and so he prescribed a 10 day dose of a new antibiotic which I began yesterday. It's a heavy dose twice daily, but am delighted that they now know what infection they are working with. Surely the Lord will use this to help me! Tomorrow night I have been asked to lead our small group at the Stouffville church so would appreciate your prayers. If I talk very much it strains my lungs and I start uncontrollable coughing spasms. However, since I believe the Lord is touching me I have accepted the challenge.
