Register to Attend the VFS Transformative Vertical Flight Meeting

The Transformative Vertical Flight 2020 will take place in San Jose, California, Jan. 21-23, 2020. It includes the following meetings:
  • 7th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium: 50+ invited speakers discussing the latest plans and progress in electric and hybrid-electric VTOL, urban air mobility and disruptive electric aviation technologies.
  • Aeromechanics For Advanced Vertical Flight Technical Meeting: A forum for discussions of emerging aeromechanics challenges and solution methods for future VTOL aircraft. Abstract topics are invited in all areas related to rotorcraft aeromechanics.
  • International Powered Lift Conference (IPLC): The premier event for engineers, technologists and managers to discuss the developments in jet, prop and rotor-powered vertical and/or short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) aircraft research, concepts and programs. IPLC 2020 will focus on three primary areas: advanced rotorcraft, jet-lift concepts and technologies and progress in propulsion applications such as electric VTOL.
A record number of technical papers will be presented as part of this action-packed 3-day event! In addition, the VFS Short Course on Electric VTOL Fundamentals will be given on Monday, Jan. 20, and a tour of NASA Ames Research Center is planned for Friday, Jan. 24.

This event will likely sell out, so register today! A limited number of sponsorships and exhibit spaces are also available.
eVTOL Workshop: Infrastructure for UAM

Following on the Vertical Flight Society's very successful Workshop on eVTOL Defining Challenges in September, VFS is planning a follow-on 2-day in-depth Workshop on Infrastructure for Urban Air Mobility in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area (supporting the FAA Tech Center) March 24-25.

Presentation slides from last month's eVTOL Defining Challenges are available for free for attendees and all current VFS members. (Note: if you have never downloaded anything from the VFS Vertical Flight Library, you must first create an account. Contact membership@vtol.org if you need help.)

329 Abstracts Submitted for VFS Forum 76!

The Vertical Flight Society's 76th Annual Forum and Technology Display will be held May 19-21, 2020 at the Palais des Congres de Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, with the theme, “The Future of Vertical Flight.”

The VFS Annual Forum is the world's leading international conference on vertical flight technology. The three-day event will include more than 250 technical presentations on every discipline from Acoustics to Unmanned Systems. The Technology Display, running concurrent with the Forum, is the most extensive exposition of cutting edge vertical flight technologies in the world, and also includes other technologies more broadly applicable to aerospace in general.

Featured this year will be in-depth eVTOL technical paper sessions, a series of invited expert panels and speakers, and a new Short Course on Electric VTOL Aircraft Design.
