Village Fall Leaf Collection Continues
The Village's annual curbside leaf collection program is underway. To participate, please pile leaves in a long, low row along the parkway in front of your property. Please keep leaf piles off the street, as they can quickly become a traffic hazard and clog the storm sewers, which can cause flooding. Contact Public Works at (847) 835-4134 with questions. Village Board to Consider Operation of Recreational Cannabis Businesses in Glencoe
Next Meeting on the Topic: Thursday, November 21
Recreational cannabis businesses operating in Glencoe has been a topic of discussion at multiple public meetings over the course of the past few months, as state-wide legalization approaches on January 1. The process to date has focused on gathering information and feedback from the public. From March to September, the Village Board discussed the topic at four different Committee of the Whole meetings. In October, and at the direction of the Village Board, the Zoning Commission held a public hearing at which it heard presentations, took public comment and deliberated potential Zoning Code amendments should recreational cannabis businesses be allowed to operate in Glencoe.
Up next: At the November 21 Village Board meeting, the Village Board will formally consider whether or not to allow recreational cannabis businesses to operate in Glencoe, and if so, where and with what regulations. To help you keep track of the deliberations, we've summarized the process, past meeting materials and next steps for you. Take a look here »
Should you like to give feedback on the topic, please e-mail the Village Manager's Office at info@villageofglencoe.org.
