Fall News
Fall is in full swing! It's one of our favorite seasons, but like spring, is short-lived.  Or at least it seems that way.  Are you busy with fall projects, or have you moved on to getting ready for the holidays?  If you're still focused on fall, we have several leaf screens for your printing pleasure, sunflowers, a spooky dead tree, and some pines and pinecones. And as always, we are happy to make custom screens for you.

We have a couple of announcements about the Etsy shop.  Recently, Etsy has encouraged sellers to offer free shipping, so we have instituted a policy of free shipping for orders $35 and over.  Earlier this year we switched to first class shipping to reduce shipping costs; now you have another way to save as well. Another new item in the shop is blank screen.  After several requests from customers we decided to add this to our listings.  If you have access to a Thermofax machine, but don't want to invest in a roll of screen, we now sell 9 x 12" sheets in 5-packs and 10-packs.  This way you can buy only what you need and not have to worry about it's shelf life. The sheets can be cut smaller to fit your image; typically, a half sheet is our medium size and a quarter sheet is our small size. Check out all our screens in the shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/PGFiber2Art.
Gift Items - If you are gearing up for holiday shopping, we have added some of our screen printed items to the shop.  We have some canvas tote bags in an assortment or colors with several different images printed on them. They are 13.5 x 13.5 x 3.5" and are sturdy canvas.  Check out the colors and designs.  Another addition is a group of silk, rayon and cotton scarves that are all hand dyed and screen printed.  They vary in widths and lengths, so check out the descriptions and pictures.  You may find one that's perfect for someone on your gift list! https://www.etsy.com/shop/PGFiber2Art
New Screen  -  We have one new screen added to the shop.  We call it "patterned circles" - it is made up of circles from 12 of our original designs.  It is available in 2 sizes, 7 x 9" and 5 x 7", and can be purchased either taped or untaped. We hope you have fun printing up some yardage with this!
Endangered Species at Houston Quilt Festival
We're sad not to be at the International Quilt Festival this year, but hope to attend again next year.  If you are lucky enough to be there, be sure to check out the "Inspired by Endangered Species" exhibit curated by Donna DeSoto.  Donna is a local quilting friend who has curated several "Inspired By" exhibit collections including the Beatles, National Parks, Elvis, and now Endangered Species.  Sue's quilt of the Pink Fairy Armadillo is one of the 111 quilts that will be on display at the festival.  We look forward to the book's publication in November.  We also look forward to everyone's pictures of the fabulous quilts at festival - have a great time!
The pink fairy armadillo is only about 5" long and lives mostly underground in the desserts of Argentina.  It has a rosy shell on top of a white furry body.  It spends its life burrowing through the earth consuming invertebrates and plant matter.  It rarely comes above ground and does not survive long in captivity due to stress and inability to adapt to an artificial diet. It was listed as endangered in 1970.
