In amongst the business of term 4, we are also thinking ahead to 2020. I wanted to share with you an overall 2020 teacher staffing update just so you know there are no big surprises.. Hana will be returning to the 1/2 Middlies class and we will be able to employ Skye working with both the 3/4 and 1/2 Middlies classes for several sessions each a week. Lee will have a specific environment focus on Thursdays which next year will also be our usual Environment Day for all classes. PE and French are moving to Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
5/6 Biggies: Kath

Fair preparations are revving up to fever pitch. Thanks in advance to Ruth, Kristina and to everyone in our community who give so generously of their time to this fabulous event. I wonder how little rubbish we can generate this year! With our bin chickens in action last year we certainly managed to recycle a considerable amount away from the rubbish bins. I still remember the look of such triumph on Hayley’s face when she showed those assembled back at school the tiny amount of rubbish we had generated.
Such achievements demonstrate us working collectively towards achievement of our Mission: Creating a better future by pioneering a curriculum that educates, inspires and nurtures the whole child to create aware, engage, curious and compassionate people.
And our Vision: To be a leading independent school pioneering a curriculum that improves social fabrics by building resourceful, resilient and compassionate leaders. We are always trying to find ways to live our school values of respect, empathy, equity, curiosity, stewardship, integrity, creativity and, of course, at this time of the year in particular, enterprise.
Annette will be sending out the electronic link to our annual surveys on Friday 15 November and it would be appreciated if you could complete the short survey by Monday 25 November. This parent feedback, together with results from our students and staff, is taken seriously and used to inform my annual report to the AGM in February next year..
Hope to see you at the Help the Kelp Art Exhibition and Auction tomorrow evening, Saturday 2 November, 6 - 8:30pm at Peppermint Bay. We did a fantastic job raising $750 from raffle ticket sales which was much appreciated by the organisers. Now we just need someone from the school community to win a prize or buy some beautiful art works.
