Agricultural health and medicine is not just a career, but a way of thinking that is creating change in farming communities.

Professionals who successfully undertake HMF701 are uniquely placed to join the NCFH network of health professionals, agricultural professionals, and policy makers who are engaging farming communities in health, wellbeing and safety, embedding their new knowledge into their professional and community services.

Are you a young person (12-25 years) living in a rural or farming community?

Have you experienced tough times?

Share your experience, tell your story and help others by taking this unique and supported opportunity to participate in a digital storytelling workshop.

The National Centre for Farmer Health are looking for 10 enthusiastic young adults (aged 12-25) living in rural Victoria whose lives have been affected by personal challenges (for example: financial hardship, family farming challenges, natural disaster, challenges to physical, social and emotional wellbeing, etc.). This is a chance for you to creatively express the challenges you’ve navigated, what you learnt about yourself and what you would like others to learn from your story. You need to be comfortable using a computer, be willing to attend a 3-day workshop in Swan Hill during January 2020, and be passionate about telling your story to make a difference in your community.

Check out the NCFH Calendar for FREE Look Over the Farm Gate screenings of "Happy Sad Man" in your Victorian community over the next few weeks. This powerful Australian film presents the lives of four very different men and how they have navigated their challenges with poor mental health. Each screening will be accompanied by a 30 minute mental health training session presented by one of the NCFH team.
