New Study Sheds Light on Organic Farming Across the Himalayas

On the occasion of the UNCCD's 14th session, IFOAM – Organics International and the World Future Council launched the new study The Mainstreaming of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology in the Himalaya Region. Policy Contexts in Bhutan, India and Nepal, which provides new insight into current institutional efforts for organic farming across the Himalaya Region.

IFOAM - Organics International Attended the CFS 46th Session

In mid-October, the Committee on World Food Security hosted its 46th Session in Rome. 
IFOAM – Organics International attended to bring the voice of the organic movement to the highest-level UN forum on food security. Delegates discussed the 2019 SOFI report, its policy implications for the SDGs, and ways to address slow progress on the 2030 Agenda.

Organic Agriculture Included in Declaration On Good Food Cities

At the September C40 World Mayors Summit, mayors from many of the world’s largest cities issued a declaration calling for more organic, healthy, and climate-friendly meals in public life and institutions. The declaration 'Good Food Cities: Achieving a Planetary Health Diet for All', laid out goals for reducing food sector climate impacts and increasing sustainable food production.
