Aaron Brown Emerging Leader Award
 In 1996, the KPCA Board of Directors established the Aaron Brown Emerging Leader Award to recognize individuals who have made a significant contribution to the furtherance of primary health care in Kentucky. Aaron was an extremely effective individual in the CHC movement and services to the undeserved.
Cherie Judd Award
The late Cherie Judd was the Chief Financial Officer for Juniper Health, Inc. An award has been recommended in her name by both her former CEOs at Juniper Health. This award is to be given by KPCA staff to an employee of a member clinic who has gone above and beyond to enhance the success of their organization, meeting their mission and the mission of the KPCA
Joseph E. Smith Award
Named after the long-time CEO of Kentucky Primary Care Association, this award was established in 2019 to recognize the significant contribution to the furtherance of primary health care in Kentucky.

Health Status and Policy Opinions Vary Across State, Regional Reports Find. Adults living in the eastern and western regions of Kentucky are more likely to smoke and also to report poorer health than those living in Louisville, Lexington and Northern Kentucky. On the other hand, the lowest uninsured rate in the Commonwealth is found among residents living in the western counties. Read More
Unity for Community Health Day.  On November 12th NACHC is sponsoring a national event for health center advocates to visit their district Congressional offices in order to promote long term funding (5 year) for 330 grants. I have included a link to their advocacy page that will give you a variety of resources for a successful visit. National Rural Health Day, November 21, 2019. In 2010, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) created National Rural Health Day (NRHD) as a way to applaud the ongoing efforts, contributions, and collaborations occurring in rural communities to address the unique challenges in accessing and delivering health care services. In the past eight years, the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) has planned, hosted, and participated in this annual event. Read More
Rural county members talk 2020 census at RAC.  Although the census is carried out by the federal government, counties are critical partners in making sure every citizen is counted. In rural counties, where roughly 70 percent of the hard-to-count population lives, that is particularly true. Convincing as many of them as a possible to participate in the census is necessary for counties to maximize their share of federal funding and congressional representation. Read More
