Monthly Council Meeting
The Joshua City Council will hold a Work Session and Regular Meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 6:30 pm in City Hall Council Chambers, located at 101 S. Main Street, Joshua, TX, 76058.

This meeting is open to the public and subject to the Open Meetings Laws of the State of Texas. The agenda will be posted at City Hall per state law on or before 6:30 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2019. Copies of the agenda and meeting packet will be available on the City’s website by Friday, November 15, 2019. Anyone who would like a hard copy of either of these may contact City Manager Joshua Jones at (817) 558-7447 during normal business hours.

Citizen Police Academy
The Joshua Police Department will present its Citizen Police Academy beginning January 21, 2020. The academy runs 10 weeks and held each Tuesday from 6pm-9pm. Attendees will get to learn about the different aspects of Law Enforcement from the officers who work in your community. There will be opportunity to tour facilities, learn about emergency responses, crime scenes, criminal investigations, force options and participate in scenarios.

Fire Chief Wayne Baker Retires
After more than 25 years in the fire service, with the last 10 being with the City of Joshua, Chief Wayne Baker has retired, effective October 31, 2019, to begin a new and exciting chapter in his life.
From Chief Baker: “The whole community has been wonderful and supportive of me and the department.You hear ‘work family' thrown out there all the time, but we actually are a work family.
“All of the public safety and government officials in this county have been amazing over the last 26 years. I can’t imagine a better place to have a career than in this county. The support of the citizens has made it worth it.”
We at the City will sincerely miss Chief Baker but wish him the best of luck!
Assistant Chief (and Fire Marshall) Joey Kratky has been appointed Interim Fire Chief.
