Join us tomorrow, Nov. 1 in our Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Altares, procession, danzantes, food y convivio.


TOMORROW--MANANA--FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1ST.  We begin at Scott Hall at 2pm with danzantes from Kalpulli Ketzal Cuatlique, who will open the ceremony followed by a presentation of the altar by students in Chicano and Latino Studies First Year Seminar class.  We'll then follow the danzantes in procession to Coffman and La Raza Student Cultural Center as homebase for the rest of the afternoon.  

Co-sponsored include:  La Raza Student Latinx Student Cultural Center, American Indian Student Cultural Center, Philipine Student Cultural Center

Want some more background information on Dia de los Muertos?  The students in Chicano and Latino Studies' First Year Seminar with Dr. Karen Mary Davalos, created a hand out with background information on Dia de Los Muertos in general as well as some specific information about the Dia de los Muertos at the University of MN and the celebration tomorrow.  We invite you to read more about this beautiful community tradition--on and off campus.

Oye Gente--we are finally at the beautiful time of year where we remember, visit, tell tales, sing, honor and hang out with our relatives, friends, mentors, and others--those physically present and those who have gone before us.  We hope this is a beautiful time for you and yours.  Below are some links to various community programs, events and opportunities related to Dia de los Muertos in the Twin Cities.
