Nuno Cruz, researcher at INESC TEC's Center for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS), visited for two weeks, July 8-19, the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in Monterey, California. This initiative took place under a collaboration with the project entitled “Autonomous Vehicle Adaptive Front Tracking at Optimized Crossing Angles”.

The “Recognized Environmental Picture Atlantic” Exercise (REP) took place from 11th to 27th September 2019 at Sesimbra and Troia Peninsula, Portugal. This year’s edition was held under the NATO’s Maritime Unmanned Systems Initiative and brought the exercise to new levels of participation, institutional support, and complexity. Researches from the Center of Autonomous Systems (CRAS - INESC TEC), Bruno Ferreira, Nuno Abreu, Jorge Barbosa, Nuno Dias, António Ferreira, Pedro Rocha, Luís Lima, Alfredo Martins, Carlos Almeida, José Miguel Almeida and Hugo Ferreira, attended this year's edition taking with them TURTLE (robotic autonomous lander) and MARES (autonomous underwater vehicle).

UNEXMIN last project meeting and final conference

UNEXMIN held its last project meeting on the 25th of September in Brussels, event that preceeded the UNEXMIN Final Conference on the following day. This project meeting put focus on discussions on the current state of the technology and project development as well as on the near, medium and long-term future of the project and the unique technology line developed within its framework.
