The founder of Supreme Cannabis has left the company in what seems to be an amicable split. PLUS, oops; we definitely overpromised. AND, dad jokes !
Supreme exit
Supreme Cannabis announced that it has “parted ways” with its founder and Chief Advocacy Officer, John Fowler.
It appeared to be an amicable exit, with Supreme thanking Fowler this week for his years of dedication.
“As a pioneer and passionate advocate for legalization, the company knows Mr. Fowler will continue to be a strong contributor to our cannabis community,” says the company statement.
Fowler was one of the original founders of the flagship brand, 7ACRES — which has notable strains, including Wappa and Jean Guy.
Fowler is known for his advocacy for a strong legal supply of high-end cannabis.
Following the announcement, there was an outpouring of support for Fowler. He was known as an industry OG who was honest and approachable.
There is now some concern about what impact his departure will have on Supreme. Since 2014, the Company has emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing cannabis companies by effectively deploying capital.
This high-profile departure is different from two recent major shake-ups at big Canadian cannabis companies.
After being unceremoniously turfed in the summer, Canopy Growth CEO Bruce Linton went on a public termination tour. Linton avoided any kind of stank.
Promises are made to be broken right? We tried our darndest to get the magazine out by Oct. 31.
But, apparently building a magazine from scratch is hard — and we want to to be top notch.
We are happy to report we've nearly done the first edition of the oz. The limited print publication should be available to subscribers in early November.
