Please Pray With Us For

The World
We pray for peace in our world that seems to be surrounded by protests; for those in Chile and Ecuador who protest against income inequality; for those who protest about corruption in Iraq, Egypt, and Lebanon; for those who protest for political freedom in Hong Kong, China, Barcelona, and Spain; for those who protest  against activities that lead to climate change from New Zealand to Europe. We remember the many thousands of people who are trafficked daily, especially the families of the thirty-nine who so tragically died inside a container on the way to London recently. We also recall the hundreds who drown while being trafficked by sea.

The Anglican Communion
Church of Bermuda (Bishop Nicholas Dill).

The Australian Anglican Church
Diocese of Adelaide (Abp Geoff Smith, Asst Bps Denise Ferguson, Timothy Harris, Christopher McLeod; Clergy & People)

The Diocese of Melbourne

Our Cathedral
Our Dean, the Very Revd Dr Andreas Loewe (on Long Service Leave), our Acting Dean the Ven. Canon Heather Patacca; the Cathedral Chapter and Sub-committees; Our Canon Missioner, the Revd Canon Robert Vun, our Bible study Groups; the students and   teachers of our English Conversation Classes; Theological Students, Lydia Thangadurai and Cleopas Zhang.

A Prayer for Rain
Our heavenly Father, we acknowledge our ingratitude when we have taken your goodness for granted, when the heaven has poured forth rain and the earth has produced its fruit. Yet now we cry to you for help, as the drought in the Murray-Darling basin deepens. Have mercy on our land; have mercy on the people of the land. May your bountiful hand send forth rain upon our parched earth. Fulfil your promises that while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest shall not cease, so that those in remote and rural areas may find relief from their distress and glorify your name for the provision of their needs.  We ask this in the name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
