Today @ HCBC

10am Sunday Worship Service

Join us as we come together to worship and grow in our relationship with God and others!

Current Series: Te Ara O Te Ora – The Weave of Life
Over term 4 we will be exploring some of the concepts that underpin our faith and our Christian worldview. Topics we will be covering include: God, the Bible, sin, Israel, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the resurrection, Church and Heaven. Te Ara O Te Ora can mean “the way of life” or “the pathway of life”. As we explore these topics we hope that they are an encouraging reminder of the faith pathway we walk and the God who we have hope and trust in. The term “ara” can also refer to a line of weaving and, in particular, the first line from which the rest is shaped. Jesus called his disciples saying, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” As we weave our lives around God’s truth, we also hope this season is a way of weaving our nets as we intentionally build towards being a more outward reaching church. Te Ara O Te Ora – The Weave of Life.

Today’s Message: Te Ara O Te Ora, Week 4: Israel
Part of our story as believers is the Biblical story of Israel; how God chose and revealed himself through the descendants of Abraham, the children of Israel. Through this story we learn something about the character and nature of God and we also learn something about the character and nature of us as people and our need for a saviour. This morning Jeff Brandt unpacks this topic for us. Jeff is married to Rachel, and they have three kids, Josh, Chloe and Jasmine. Jeff, we look forward to what you have to share with us today!

Children’s Ministry: The Quarry
The Quarry, our Sunday children’s ministry, runs during school term time. Stepping Stones (3, 4 & 5 year-olds), Living Stones (6-10/11 year-olds) & Pebbles Crèche (0-3 year olds). Children begin in the service before being invited to their programmes during the service.

Intermediates In The Service Today
Encounter is the Sunday Morning component of our intermediate-age ministry (11-12 year-olds). Encounter runs every second Sunday during term time and is on NEXT Sunday.

Communion
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the 1st Sunday of the month. We invite anyone, including those visiting today, who is a believer and follower of Jesus to join with us. At the centre of all we do is what God has done for us through Jesus.

These are the songs we’re singing as part of today’s worship service:

  • “I Am Free” by Jon Egan
  • “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” by Joel Houston, Matt Crocker & Salomon Ligthelm
