Past Events
National Chemistry Week Event on October 19th
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the National Chemistry Week event. It was a huge success! More than 200 kids and adults visited our activity tables in the DISCOVERY Children's Museum. In addition, we gave out almost 100 'goodie' bags to kids who completed all of the activities.
Missed your chance to volunteer? Be sure to look for news about Chemists Celebrate Earth Week in the spring and join us in April 2020!
For this year's Illustrated Poetry Contest, our section received over 80 entries. The first place winners in each age group will be able to compete in the national ACS competition. Congratulations to the winners!
Safety Notes
Our Safety Committee Chair, Liuba Williams, prepared these helpful notes about (1) choosing the right glove for the right job, and (2) the hazards of acrylic nails in the laboratory.
Lastly, we leave you with some science humor.
