The Carbon Literacy Project: Climate Change learning for everyone.

Welcome! The latest news from The Carbon Literacy Project...

"Climate change does not respect borders; it does not respect who you are - rich and poor, small and big. Therefore, it is what we call 'global challenges,' which require global solidarity."
~ Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations

11,000 Certified Learners!

Recently, we reached another milestone... 11,000 certified learners. This means that 11,000 citizens are more informed about the impact of our activities on climate change, and have taken 22,000 actions designed to reduce our individual and collective carbon footprint. So far.
More than 800 organisations are now involved, engaging citizens from 10 different nations, and 31 organisations have achieved Carbon Literate Organisation status.
If your organisation is already involved with Carbon Literacy, and interested in becoming a CLO, please click here for more details.

Patagonia Action Works Launch Events

Patagonia Action Works, the new online platform from Patagonia connecting customers with NGOs and charities, launched last month in Europe. The online community-based platform is the next chapter in Patagonia’s 45-year history of activism and support for environmental NGOs, including its giving programme, 1% for the Planet.

Spotlight on - Opera North

Based in Leeds, Opera North is the first Opera company in the world to undertake Carbon Literacy. By engaging staff, musicians, audiences, communities, and supporters in environmental thinking, Opera North believes it can help to reduce its environmental impact and carbon footprint, as well as inspiring wider change towards a more sustainable future.

Read more here about their Carbon Literacy journey, and the steps they have already taken committing them to a low-carbon culture.

A UNIQUE PROJECT

The Carbon Literacy Project is a unique project, working with everyone who lives, works or studies, to offer a day's worth of training to the Carbon Literacy Standard. Once Carbon Literate, we have an instinctive understanding of the carbon impacts of our activities, are able to make informed choices, and, driven by the urgency, act positively to address climate change.
