The UB Association of Women Surgeons and The UB Department of Surgery will be hosting the First Annual Heart of Gold Gala as part of an initiative to give back to the community that is served. Research Award
The Institute for Research and Education on Women and Gender offers grants to UB faculty (residents and fellows – you’re faculty!) to support research and/or curriculum development that exemplifies high quality, innovative scholarship related to women and gender. The Institute is particularly interested in supporting projects that are collaborative and/or interdisciplinary. Submission deadline is December 2, 2019. Click here for application information.

Financial Planning Seminar for Jacobs School Community
Faculty, staff, students, residents, alumni, and friends are invited to attend a unique financial planning session featuring Paul R. Hammer, CLU, ChFC, AIF and Adam Hammer from Hammer Financial Group on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 6:00 - 7:00pm at the Jacobs Medical School in room 2213A Topics for discussion are loan repayment, insurance coverages, retirement planning, etc. All ages could benefit! Self Care Workshop
Join the Roswell Park Wellness Program for a self-care workshop to learn how to identify negative thought patterns, release undesirable emotions, and remember to be gentle with ourselves on November 14 from 5:30pm-7pm in the Roswell Park Gaylord Cary Conference Room. 
 

Now accepting Letters of Intent for the Evan Calkins, MD, Community Based Research Fellowship!
Residents and fellows (PGY 1-7) and junior faculty whose career goals are centered around clinical practice are encouraged to apply. The first step will be to submit a Letter of Intent by midnight on Monday, December 16, 2019. Your letter of intent will be reviewed by the Award Selection Committee prior to the call for proposals. You will be notified in early January if your proposal should be submitted in its current format, submitted with suggested revisions or not accepted for further review.

Please note that Payroll has a dedicated email address now – please send all communications for payroll to this departmental mail box to ensure receipt in case a particular person is out (i.e. direct deposit requests, hospital billing inquiries, etc.). By emailing the department inbox below, you will reach all of the payroll team members and ensure that someone receives your inquiry VS running the risk of emailing one person who may be out unexpectedly.
