📣 On speaking and communication
I've been to three software development conferences in the recent two months to give public speaking at conferences a try. There's a recording of one of my presentations titled "Ego-less programming: the philosophy of better code." I'm very interested in your feedback about it. It's safe to watch even if you don't have a software development background or if you're not interested in philosophy.

To fix Climate Change, stop being a techie and start being a human
A common theme across all of these conferences was that there was a lot talking about climate change. It seems this issue is so important to many people that they'll mention it even when the audience may not be directly interested. This article was suggested at DevOpsDays Edinburgh as a good read regarding climate change. I can recommend it as well because it shows how our individual actions and approaches are simply no match for the challenge.
Books
One of the books I finished recently was "Flow." I've tried both the audiobook version and an ebook one. If you can, stay away from the audiobook as it is mostly a companion to the actual book. Entertaining for sure, but doesn't give much value in itself. As the title suggests, the book deals with achieving flow states: the states of high focus that bring high enjoyment, like playing a musical instrument or building wi the Lego bricks.
Another book I started reading was "Non-Violent Communication" and I have to say I really liked it. First I tried the abridged audiobook version and it was very insightful. I'm still looking forward to reading the original book. To quote one of the Book Club participants: "Overall, the book contained a lot of examples in a simple language. I’d rate it #2 among all the books we read this year."
🎵 Music
If you like heroism, wizards, Scotland, submarines, and fast guitar-playing, you may as well like "Hootsforce" by Gloryhammer. It's an upbeat heavy metal track that fulfills many of the stereotypes associated with the genre.
If, on the other hand, you prefer something more peaceful, Liv Kristine's "In the Heart of Juliet" may well be it.
