Booster News
WE NEED HELP.
Roles that will need to be filled:
Concessions Chair (immediate need!!) - 3 weekend concession stands, beginning in January.
Volunteer Coordinator - we use Signup Genius. Couldn't be an easier job - done at home, when it suits you.
Booster President - Runs 10 meetings/year. Figurehead of the Booster organization; coordinates lots of things (email campaigns, decal sale, weekly newsletter during school year, Chair positions); in contact with directors about needs of programs; deals with administrative side of Boosters
Treasurer - handles all things money, voting member
Recording Secretary - comes to meetings, takes minutes, voting member
Corresponding Secretary - handles correspondence, which is mostly thank you notes.
Beth Stockdale will be at the Marching Band Banquet; if you're interested in a position, chat her up after the festivities! If you'd rather communicate via email or simply won't be at the banquet, bstockdale812@comcast.net. The Booster officer page at wlnmb.org has email addresses for many of the departing officers. Feel free to reach out & have them tell you about their experience.
If you're new to the program, welcome! Don't be afraid to jump in. There are many jobs that need to be done, both big and small. If you're a returning parent, please help our new families learn the ropes! Share your experiences, talk about the friends you've made and the laughs you've had.

Scrip
Our ScripNow bonuses begin today! This promotion runs 11/1-11/30/19, and is only good for ScripNow purchases! Regular gift card purchases will have incentives split as per usual. We will not be applying this bonus to purchases of physical gift cards; it is only good for electronic/e-gift cards and reloads of existing cards. 100% of the incentive money earned from ScripNow & card reloads for the entire month of November will be given to the designated student's account. Those incentive dollars can be used to make trip payments, camp payments, pay for instrument repairs & lessons. Take advantage!
Wondering about e-gift cards for gift giving? Some of them can be scheduled to send on a particular date to the recipient. You can also print them yourself & package them in whatever cute ways you come up with. Thinking outside the box can help you generate some real money to be used for incentive purposes.
What is Scrip? FAQ! Our Scrip program is an ongoing fundraiser. It runs all year, with order pickups on Thursday evenings in the Commons at WLN, 5:30p-6:30 (Please confirm with Missy that she'll be at the school on pickup day! Her schedule has gotten crazy because of work.) Scrip is the ONLY way to accumulate fundraising funds specifically for your student! It's a great way to pay for camp,trips, lessons, or instrument repairs. Start accumulating your Scrip dollars now for those future big purchases! Please check out the Scrip page on our website for important enrollment information! We also have a new email address for Scrip questions/comments: wlnmusicboostersscrip@gmail.com Note: we can only accept cash or checks at the Scrip table.
Scrip orders placed online by Sunday nights will be available for pick up on Thursday evenings. If orders are placed and you want to arrange for pickup, please email wlnmusicboostersscrip@gmail.com to make arrangements for pick up with Missy Kirshner.
Scrip has made it possible to pay for your online Scrip orders using a credit card! There is an additional 2.46% fee, so it may not be worth it on some purchases, but it may be great for others. Your mileage may vary!
Disney Trip
Disney 2020 Trip folks - Please go to Charms and make sure everyone in your family is: a) marked as going on the trip; b) correctly tagged for either the Disney 2020 Full or Disney 2020 Land options; c) Verify your payments (Note: Oct 14 payments have not been entered into Charms yet). We need to make sure we have an accurate count of students and chaperones for flights. If you have questions or corrections, please reach out to Mrs. H and/or email me (Wendy Fowler) at wlnmbtreasurer@gmail.com. Thanks.
Reminder: Next payment due date is Nov. 11. We have disabled Paypal in Charms. Boosters is charged each and every time someone makes a payment that way. We're looking into alternative electronic payment methods. We still do not have an update on one way ticket costs. Rest assured that if you got your information in to Mrs. Hulliberger on time, you are on the list & it will be honored!
We've had some people who are interested in joining us on this trip. You can join up until the final payment is due if you can meet certain specifications: you must fill out the Disney Registration Form AND make a payment that brings you up to date with everyone else. (IE If you decide on Nov. 3 to join the trip, you must submit a payment equal to the 3 payments already due ($1110/person) and be ready to make the next payment on Nov. 11. You can see the payment schedule HERE.) We have a tentative itinerary but should have a firmer one soon.
Checks should be made payable to WLNMB and marked Disney trip in the Memo line. They can be dropped off with the trip registration form in 2 places at the school: in the front office, in an envelope marked "Mary Hulliberger - Disney trip" or in the band box, which is a locked box just outside Mrs. H's office door in the band room. Alternatively, you can mail it to the school, addressed:

Marching Band

Don't forget we do have spirit wear available! You can purchase it online & have it shipped directly to your home.
Help Needed: Our uniform chair, Jessica Mukavetz, does such a great job fitting our Marching Knights. The job she does is a BIG one. Jessica could likely use some help in the form of a co-chair. If you'd like to learn the ropes, let her know. jmukavetz@yahoo.com
We are also looking for someone to take over a couple of band camp related roles for next summer. Our current section olympics chair is graduating & needs to be replaced. Additionally, we need someone to coordinate the post-camp sub lunches (collect money, order & distribute subs). Please let Mo Seifert know if you're interested in one or both of these roles. The MI Daily 3 Raffle: Our Raffle is completed as of today! We'll be mailing out 69 checks in the coming week(s). We've had generous donations from several winners, together donating $525 back to the band! Thank you!!! Look for this raffle to return next fall... Edie Schwartz & Jackie Gurwin have graciously agreed to run it! Thank you, ladies!
31 Bags: Our 31 Bags party is up and running! The link is live! The Band will receive 25% of the total purchases. Orders are shipped directly to your home & should be there in plenty of time for the holidays!

Band
Wind Ensemble and Marching Band will be performing with the Clifford Smart MS 7th & 8th grade bands on Nov. 12. This concert will be in the gymnasium!
Choir
Our Fall Choir Concert is Monday, November 4th at 7:00 pm. Call time for students is 6:15 pm.
Also, we are doing a trip to Chicago in April. People can use the link here: https://portal.tours-eti.com/UserSignUp/RegisterNewUser.aspx to register for the trip. There must be a $130 payment made to secure a confirmed spot. (Hint: you can buy Scrip, earn incentive dollars, request a check & pay for your trip with it!)
