By far one of the most exhilarating travel experiences I have had the pleasure to embark is my recent trip to the iconic volcanic archipelago of the Galápagos Islands. Built in 2011 and fully refurbished in 2019, it welcomes only 16 guests on it’s small ship cruise.
The indoor dining room offers plenty of space for everyone, and extends into a lounge. This spacious social area is on the main deck and offers a panoramic view over the Galápagos Islands. The cuisine offered on the Sea Star Journey is both local, and mostly organic. There’s a second dining room located on the outside too.
And the massive sundeck offers both uncovered and shaded areas. Also, that is where you will find not one, but two jacuzzi tubs!
Each day brought new excitement as we left our ship and boarded Zodiacs bound for various excursions—kayaking, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, and more.
Such an awesome experience!

Kasiiya Papagayo, a luxury eco-retreat that opened this year on 123 private acres of dry tropical forest in the northwestern corner of Costa Rica. Nestled between the mountains and the Pacific, the property was designed to immerse visitors in the surrounding nature and create a true escape from urban life.
The five tented suites, two restaurants and spa are barely visible among the trees, forming a secret jungle world accessible only by boat, helicopter or by driving up a steep, winding dirt road.
Every element of Kasiiya was crafted with the environment in mind, making it one of a very few properties that truly deliver on their sustainability promise. Electricity and Wi-Fi are powered by solar panels, water is sourced from the on-property well and rain barrels, and single-use plastics are all but nonexistent. The eco-friendliness extends to the cleaning products and bath accessories, which include a natural homemade bug spray oil that doubles as a fresh, herb-scented perfume. Even the toilets are composting.
Activities are: doing nothing, nautical sports, deep-tissue massage, chakra alignment, yoga or an “animal movements” session. Truly relaxing

During the the high-profile MICE entrepreneur symposium, that took place in The Athenée Hotel, pooling executives from the world's leading MICE associations (UFI, ICCA, SITE) to unveil their perspectives to strengthen Thai MICE.
Thailand is just amazing, everybody knows about the friendliest people in Asia, about the pristine white sandy beaches, the best streetfood and the fabulous temples. What should a destination marketing department organise to inspire a jetsetter like me? the word "Redefine" is the key concept, how to see the city, the locations, everything, new angles and new visions, this is what TCEB organised for me:
- Redefine Imagination with a presentation in the wonderful Garden Ville, the gardens of The Sukhothai
- Redefine dinner concepts: Karmakamet is already an established brand of aromatic products, but it has also a lovely little café in Sukhumvit.
- Redefine The stars night: with one Michelin star the Bo.Lan is considered to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Bangkok
- Redefine MICE venue at the True Icon Hall in Icon Siam
Hua Hin is Thailand's oldest beach town resort. Situated on the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand and only 200 kilometers from the capital, Bangkok, it offers the ultimate getaway destination for the city's elite. My visits:
- King Rama II Memorial Park was built to honour King Rama II and is run by a royalty-supported foundation.
I was dressed up like a Thai and we enjoyed a superb Thai lunch in the Puppla Rimnam Pavilion
- Golden Windmill Salt Spa: this place is a simple nice spa using their own products made of sea salt from Petchaburi area.
- Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park to redefine my body: this agricultural park is managed by the Chaipat Foundation.
