Our mission is to create a place to encounter Jesus. Steeped in love and Catholic teachings, we provide strong academics to foster continual learning in mind and spirit.

Dear SJB Families,

We hope you enjoyed a long weekend! Last week was fun with all of the preparations and parties that took place at school for Halloween.

We are looking forward to a lot of events in November. One of the most important things that will be happening during November for our school is the visit from our accrediting association! A team of educators representing the Minnesota Nonpublic Schools Accrediting Association (MNSAA) will be visiting our school on November 12th-14th. Read more about this further in this newsletter.

Veteran's Day is November 11th. It has been a tradition at St. John's to bring pictures of friends and family members that have served our country. We will honor these service members by featuring their pictures on a special table in the gather space. We will pray over our heroes, and discuss the sacrifices made by all those who serve and have served our country.

Please read on to learn more about what's coming up this month at SJB!

Each year our school helps support The Friend of San Lucas Mission by collecting change to donate to the mission's schools. The fundraiser is called the "change wars." Each classroom has a jar and students are asked to collect change for their classroom's jar. The fun comes in when paper money is added. Students from other classrooms sneak paper money into the jar of another classroom, this counts against the other classrooms running total. (Change Total - Paper Money total = Total for a potential winning classroom). The “change wars” begin Monday, November 11th. Look for more information coming home soon!

Basketball Coach Wanted!
St. John's is looking for a basketball coach for our team this year. If interested please contact Maresa Murray at mmurray@sjsjordan.org.

St. John the Baptist School is accredited by the Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association. Annual reports are submitted to this agency in order to meet Association standards. MNSAA sends an onsite team to examine the school for evidence of standards compliance every seven years. This November 12-14th we will welcome a team to St. John's! We have been working hard to identify the ways we meet and exceed MNSAA standards, and how we can continually improve and seek excellence.

MNSAA Parent Interviews
During the visit from our MNSAA team, team members will want to speak with our school parents. This may occur during drop off and pick up times, or a team member may give you a call at home. They will ask you questions that will help them get a parent's perspective of our school. Please feel free to be open and honest. This will help us improve as a school!
During our MNSAA visit, we want the team of six educators to feel at home. This includes providing meals and snacks. We would love the help of our families! If you are able, please sign up to bring something. So far, no special diet requirements have been shared. We can warm meals up here, and do the necessary prep.

You may drop off your dish in the school office at 6:30 am or the night before for breakfast, and 11 am for lunch.

Thanks so much for your generosity! Home-cooked meals will make them feel welcome!
