BOOK FAIR
Our school is hosting a Follett Book Fair November 4th - 8th!  Support your child's love for reading!  Students will be able to shop during the school day.  If you would like to send in a check or cash we will have volunteers available to help them shop.  We will be hosting a family night on Thursday, Nov. 7th from 5:30 - 7:30pm.  Bring the family and do some book shopping.  Books also make great gifts for the holiday season.

We are still in need of volunteers during the school day and a couple during family night.  If you have some extra time and can help up please click on the button below to sign up!

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Thank you to everyone who donated to Project I Am.  We raised over $1,100!  We purchased items to fill 100 Blessing Bags.  Please join us on Thursday, November 7th at 6:30 pm in the commons to help us put the bags together.  Shop the book fair and then bring the family down to support this great cause.  The founder of  Project I Am, Jahkil Jackson will be joining us.

You can check out Jahkil's story on his website http://www.officialprojectiam.com.

BUTTER BRAIDS
The PTO is excited to be offering Butter Braids for sale.  We are running this fundraiser because we know that people like them and enjoy having them available for the holidays.  The PTO will raise $5 for each Butter Braid sold which will be used towards our general PTO budget items such as, online licenses for reading programs, battle of the books, teacher wish lists, our Dr. Carlson scholarship and other needs around our school.    You can collect orders with the paper order forms that went home with your student or you can use the online link below.  Just search for your child's name in the list and order!  Paper order forms are due Friday, November 8th and Butter Braids will be available for pickup on Friday, November 22nd.

HALLOWEEN CANDY DONATIONS
Did your kids get a ridiculous amount of candy on Halloween?  Did you overbuy and not hand everything out?  The PTO will take any leftover candy donations to use at future events.  Our candy monster will be in the office from Nov. 1st - Nov. 8th.  Drop it off at any time!
WINDY CITY BULLS GAME
Join us at the Windy City Bulls game with other Prairieview and U-46 families on Saturday, November 9th at 7 pm.  There are a lot of family activities such as a fun zone and inflatable obstacle course.  100 level tickets are only $20 each and part of the ticket prices will be donated back to Prairieview!  Click the box below to buy your tickets now.

FALL FEST RECAP
Thank you to all our families that came out and joined as at the Fall Fest.  It was a great time.  Thank you also to all who donated items or volunteered to help make our event a success!  We can't do it without our Prairieview parents!
FAMILY EATS
Another night in November for Family Eats.  Dine out or order delivery from Marco's Pizza on November 19th and part of your spending will come back to Prairieview!  You don't have to cook and Prairieview directly benefits.

Thanks to all who headed out to Menchies and Portillos in October!  We raised $90 at Menchies and are still waiting on the total from Portillos.

We have raised $324 through Family Eats events so far this year.

More to come!
BOX TOPS
Thank you to all who have sent in clipped box tops and who have downloaded the app and scanned your receipt.  So far we have raised $84.20 through the app and $186.50 with clipped box tops.  We are 52.8% to our goal of $1,000 (this includes some box tops left over from the end of last year).  Keep clipping and don't forget to scan those receipts in the app!

CAC MEMBERS NEEDED
For over half a century, community and parent volunteers that live within Illinois School U-46 boundaries have served as liaisons between their schools, the CAC, and the school district.  We identify our children's needs and bring ideas to the District.  CAC representatives attend monthly meetings and are strongly encouraged to join a committee.

The goal of the CAC is to advise and assist the Board of Education and Administration in the ongoing effort to provide the best possible educational opportunities for the students of School District U-46.

Prairieview needs 4 CAC members to have any voting rights for our school on important topics such as boundary lines.  If you are interested, the time commitment is one meeting a month during the school year.  Please email Mr. Flatley if you would like to volunteer.
AMAZON SMILE
Holiday shopping is coming!  Did you know that you can donate money to Prairieview just by doing your normal shopping at Amazon?  If you are a big Amazon shopper please sign up for Amazon Smile.  Once you sign up you shop at www.smile.amazon.com and a portion of most things you purchase will be given back to our school!  Amazon Smile is now available through the app on android phones!  Click on settings and click on Amazon Smile and follow the directions.
SHUTTERFLY
Do you use Shutterfly or Tiny Prints to order photos or cards?  We have just paired up with them for fundraising.  For all purchases using our Prairieview Storefront as described below, Shutterfly will give us back 8% of all sales!

To order:
  • Go to www.prairieview.shutterflystorefront.com
  • Click on Shop Shutterfly or Shop Tiny Prints
  • You will be sent to your normal sign in screen to complete your purchase.

The great part about this partnership is that you can share the storefront with your friends and family that also order from Shutterfly and all the 8% will benefit our school!
