This Week In Doodle Art:
Decoupaging Halloween Bags
With Paper Napkins

Decoupaged Pumpkins

Decoupage is the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper, magazine, newspaper or fabric cutouts onto it with special paint effects, gold leaf and other decorative elements.

Decoupage comes from the French word "decouper" which means to cut out or cut from something else. We used Mod Podge to create our projects.

Decoupage can be perceived as crafty but there is also a lot of fine art decoupage. We looked at the work of decoupage artist, Mary Delaney, who was born in 1700 in England and became a decoupage artist at the age of 70. She made 985 botanically accurate works which she called Paper Mosaiks. They were made from tissue paper.
