Lean In Unconference is our annual flagship event, where we gather prolific speakers who are experts in their fields to discuss a wide range of progressive ideas on the betterment of the Malaysian society.

WHY
 

Our conference themes differ each year, but the primary focus is to inspire more women to be empowered professionally and personally. We help by providing platforms, connections, and spaces to guide women in their pursuits. At the conference, participants will see a showcase of Lean In Malaysia’s best practices and most popular modules that have been delivered throughout the year.

The upcoming LIUC 2019 promises to be more than just an eye-opener. To the previous LIUC participants, this will be a strong follow-up with actions being taken to ensure successful implementation. For first-timers, fret not, even if you have missed the previous LIUC, this will still guarantee to change your mindset and enhance you as an individual. The promise of LIUC 2019 comes with the theme of "Experiencing Breakthrough; Hear It, See It and Be It", a theme specially designed to inculcate the values of inclusion to breakthrough the barriers that both men and women face in bridging the gap towards success.

As usual, we are entirely grateful to Australian High Commissioner, for supporting us through thick and thin. This will be their second time as the main sponsor for our major event, goes to show the belief they have in Lean In Malaysia to cultivate even the smallest amount of change to the Malaysian society. Their willingness and belief allowed us to spread our wings even further than we could possibly imagine.

Breakthrough is a word we often deal with daily. Though we are unaware of it, every individual strives to be a better version of themselves. Every single thought translates to action that will knowingly or unknowingly have an impact on the individual. Hence this is why we have decided that the theme will be "Experiencing Breakthrough; Hear It, See It and Be It". By combining the projection of the event with the powerful speakers that we have onboard, we would like to impart key information and by the end of it, the message of breakthrough is strong enough to start a chain of reaction.

As the Head of LIUC 2019, I can say that the event was thoughtfully planned to cover all the right steps regarding achieving a breakthrough. My advice would be to look at our speakers for the event, you can simply browse our website and social media page to find out more about the event and finally bring along yourself and a friend. This year one of the objectives is to include more male allies into the conversation, so make sure you let your male friends know about the event and have them join us.
