Recent cold temperatures have sparked a blaze of fall color and cauesd most of our plants to go dormant, making now an ideal time to ship them! Even though the weather is getting cooler, the soil has residual warmth from summer, allowing the roots to grow even through the end of November in most parts of the country.

Picea pungens 'Scottie'

This compact spruce has a very unique appearance with very symmetrical branches ascending to form a teardrop shape. The dwarf growth habit is preserved by propagating from cuttings rather than grafting, making this blue spruce a very unique and uncommon selection. Our 6-year-old plants are beginning to attain the distinctive shape!

Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' ('Maiku jaku')

Large green leaves are deeply divided, hence the occasionally used name "fern leaf."  Spring leaves are pubescent and typically emerge with a profusion of red to burgundy flowers.  Fall color is possibly the most spectacular of all maples, hence the name "dancing peacock."  Fall colors are brilliant crimson to orange.
