Counting Down
Already in November our thoughts are turning to the party season.

Wow what a wet day today, don't let it stop you from going out though, just get dressed for the weather ,So wrap up warm and continue to get out and about.
We had a family gathering last night and a family get together tomorrow so have tried to compensate the last few days before another day out ( mindful that our Christmas party is only 4 weeks away! ) Plus really don't want a naked snowman!
Hope you are all being mindful too this weekend.

Was so good to catch up with you all last week after my week off.
Half term is over, children back at school  and time for us to focus on ourselves and our goals we have made for Christmas, it is getting closer!

It was really good to get the Christmas challenge started last week.. I'm  ready to get stuck into the challenge with you and if you were missing last week then you can join the challenge this week.

It is red pen week this week so let's see what we can achieve in November before those party invites come flooding in!

The time is now......

"The only difference between what you are and what you want to be is what you do"

It's never too late! But the later you leave it, the harder it will be.

We now have a fair few weeks until the serious Christmas party season begins, and as happens every year, many of you are 'hoping' to be able to get into that gorgeous dress or outfit you've seen.

As much as we wish it weren't so, 'hoping' isn't going to be enough!

There's still plenty of time to lose a stone or more, or drop a dress size , but you have to decide whether you're willing to put the work in, and you have to decide NOW.

For many of us that time is fast approaching.

If you have weight to lose, you want to lose it, and you're having trouble losing it now, you'll find it impossible once the Christmas Party season starts.

You'll start yet another year fighting a losing battle trying to lose the weight you've put on over Christmas before you can even make a start on losing the weight you were supposed to lose before Christmas.

There is still time - but probably not as much as you'd like. You can make the decision now to do things differently this year, or you can make the decision now to make all the same mistakes you made last year.

The choice is yours, but it is a choice.

The very best way to GUARANTEE getting 2020 off to the very best start is to give yourself a head start. Don't start 2020 with even more work to do than you have right now.

I have already had one lady say she's busy and will see me after Christmas! Very dangerous, still plenty of chances to lose weight before the end of the year.

Decide to change. Decide to be different. Decide that you deserve better.

Then for the very best results, decide to let me help you.

There is still time, but it might be an idea to get a bit of a shift on sooner rather than later!

You can do it, if you really want to, and I'm right here to help you

But you're the only one who can make it happen!

Winter greens with crispy bacon
Lovely to see the brussel sprouts in the supermarket,at only 65 calories per serving ( serves 8) this is a lovely recipe to make.

Ingredients
  • 450g brussels sprouts
  • 150g sprout tops or other greens, such as swiss chard, shredded
  • 200g curly kale, shredded
  • Cooking oil spray
  • 150g lean bacon medallions, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • Zest 1 lemon and a squeeze juice
Method
  1. Bring a large pan of water to the boil, then add the sprouts and simmer for 4 min or until almost tender. Remove with a slotted spoon (leave the pan of water on the heat) and refresh under cold running water. Drain, then transfer to a large bowl. Cut any large sprouts in half.
  2. Add the sprout tops or greens and the kale to the pan of boiling water and blanch for 1–2 min. Drain, refresh, then drain again. Add to the bowl of sprouts.
Put a large non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Spray with oil, then fry the bacon for 5–6 min until crisp. Add the garlic and fry for 30 sec. Add the lemon zest and veg, then cook for 2 min or until heated through. Add the lemon juice and season with pepper to serve.

Snuggling down or revving up?
..... Grey mornings, darker evenings , colder, wetter weather, clocks gone back, Christmas looming and so much to think about and do..... it happens every year!
Weight loss slows , you feel hungrier,  your clean eating starts to get 'supplemented' with sugary, fatty, processed cheats, it becomes an effort to get to your usual number of classes and more inviting to stay in the warm with some trashy TV and a packet of chocolate biscuits resulting in weight gain to bring you down further.
You have been pre-warned so now lets think about what we can do to avert such a crisis....
Yes you may well 'feel' hungrier in colder weather because your body is burning more calories to maintain your core temperature but is it truly hunger?
Not if you are eating clean in the right amounts, focusing on good protein and fats, lots and lots of vegetables and wholegrains resulting in boosted energy levels, inches down , lbs dropping , feeling satiated and therefore snacking is avoided. Make a 'clean' vegetable soup , healthy, nutritious, warming and filling for if you really need something. Clean eating supports your immune system too helping to ward off the cold and flu germs, don't compromise it by bad food choices.
Check  your daily water intake which may well have dropped with the colder weather and the central heating being turned on. The brain sends the same signals for dehaydration as it does hunger, so simply ensuring consistent water intake stops the between meal hunger pangs. Have herbal teas, fresh lemon and ginger with hot water as a warm way to get fluids in - my particular favourite is green tea with mint.

Boost your fat burning by attending as many classes as you can, get out there on Sunday Mornings for a brisk walk / jog or run  in the fresh air which massively increases calorie burning and costs you nothing but a little bit of time. Get those endorphins up to cope with anything this time of year can throw at you - you'll feel invincible, I promise!
Try a different class to your usual routine - try my Pilates or try adding more walking in your lunch breaks.
I have space in my stretch and tone on a Tuesday morning in Littlebourne, great class for toning those problem areas.

So rev up for the coming Winter months and meet it full on  by being ahead of the game.
Be good, feel good - you'll be amazed!
I am so looking forward to working with you all the way to Christmas, I really do miss you when you are away from a class.
