Friends,
God is good! He is always working for my good. I didn't make the deadline for the Pre-Departure Orientation Training I had wanted to attend, but that is okay. The training has actually been postponed because very few TEAM missionaries were able to attend, myself included. So, it has been postponed until February, which works out great for me! I will continue with my same timeline, hoping to reach 100% financially funded by February. When that happens, I can simply go to the Pre-Departure Orientation Training as the last item on my "check list" and leave for Japan after attending. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement!

God gave me so much peace this past month. I really felt that He was (and still is) working for my good and sometimes I just need to let Him do His work and trust Him. Haha, it's funny how it's harder to let someone do something for me than to do it myself. However, in letting God take the controls for awhile, I was able to spend time being with family, friends, and my church without feeling overwhelmed or guilty. It has been a precious gift. I only have three months left here and with the holiday season upon us, it's going to go by so fast. I want to enjoy the community God has given me here because He's given me a great one.

I got to spend some daddy-daughter time on Lake Washington fishing for perch. It was a cold but beautiful day. Unfortunately, it was a purely vegetarian exploit as both of us only managed to catch tangles of weeds. So we got a hamburger afterwards to make up for our failure to catch fish. It was still fun.

I got to join my church family in reaching out to our community with Trunk or Treat. I had actually planned not to participate because I had been so busy, but God gave me time. It was so much fun! The looks on some of the kids' faces were priceless. I loved being a princess for a few hours and bringing joy to so many children. I'm glad I decided to do it. Although, I think I have come to the conclusion that having long hair like Rapunzel's may not be the fairy tale I imagined. It was hard work keeping my hair from being caught in or dragged through everything imaginable!

Finally, I got to visit my brother at the University of Idaho where he's getting his master's degree in music. We saw his concert for Tubaween which told of the glorious exploits of a young tuba viking's rise to manhood in order to fight for his tribe against the rude tribe of trombone vikings. Quite the adventure inspired by one man's beard, my brother's, the bald headed, bushy bearded, tuba wielding man!
My family and I also saw Palouse Falls on the way home. It was an incredible reminder of God's glorious eye for beauty as the creator of all. Not a bad way to end a busy but peaceful month.

Pre-Departure Orientation Training has been moved to February.
Next Steps
In order to apply for a Japanese visa, I need to be very close to reaching 100% of my support goal. So, the next step is to continue working towards 100% of my support goal.
