Recent filings of campaign finance reports with Ramsey County Elections show that more than $60,000 has been funneled into the Vote Yes effort by an "unholy" alliance of the DFL, AFSCME 5, the faith-based ISAIAH organization, and the Minnesota Jobs Coalition (courtesy of a $30,000 donation by Illinois-based Republic Services).

Given the slick Vote Yes ad pieces hitting every mail box in St. Paul, it's very likely that spending by the Vote Yes forces could top $100,000!!

Is this how a citizen's referendum should be decided?

By the Mayor putting his "thumb on the scale," courtesy of his political allies, and aided by a huge "dark money" contribution from a multinational hauler that has been a major beneficiary of the legal monopoly that organized trash has created in St. Paul?

Not if we believe elections should be based on facts rather than fear.

Unfortunately, the Vote No coalition doesn't have wealthy donors writing big checks--or the money to mail glossy lit pieces to 100,000 residences.

But we do have grassroots ingenuity and the power of the people.

Check out the series of videos we created that help debunk the scare tactics coming out of the Mayor's office and misinformation being spread around the internet by the Vote Yes forces.
