Of all the people working in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) sector, ONLY 14.4% ARE WOMEN*!
That’s despite the fact that women make up 50% of the workforce.
We need a culture shift in this country.
Empowering young girls to choose to turn their passion for STEM subjects into their career must be our priority.
And that’s the ethos behind my business, Green Tutors…
… helping our students get the grades they need to choose a career in STEM.
Girls especially, because they are so under-represented in this historically 'male' sector.
Green Tutors’ aim is to bridge this gap by providing access to our team of professional STEM tutors.
Our STEM tutors share their passion and expertise in their specialist topic with our students, so they achieve the GCSE grades that enable them to follow their heart into an exciting and rewarding STEM career.
Which is why I am so thrilled to be nominated for the Women in STEM award, being announced at next month's Women's Business Club conference.
I’d so love to win this award.
Recognition at the conference will bring awareness and hope to your female family and friends who want a career in the STEM sector, and the encouragement to keep going.
It’s also another demonstration of what can be achieved by Women in STEM.
The winner will be the person who receives the most votes… and I’m currently in fourth place!
How could you possibly help me get that coveted top spot?
I’m glad you asked. I do have a small request of you, actually. 💚
